About Mira Costa

Mira Costa is a popular neighborhood in Oceanside, California. Centrally located, it is known for Henie Hills and MiraCosta College.

Mira Costa is situated east of El Camino Real and Highway 78. You will find a variety of single family homes here that range in price. Most of these homes were built from 1970 to 1999 although a few hundred have been completed since 2000. Residents enjoy being just minutes from the beach as well as many attractions.

There are several school districts that serve Oceanside. Students in this community may attend Grapevine Elementary School and Madison Middle School as well as highly ranked Rancho Buena Vista High School. There are also several private facilities like Saint Mary Star of the Sea School, Old Mission Montessori School, and La Petite Academy. MiraCosta College serves the county with over 50 certificates as well as associate degrees that equal a bachelor’s degree for the first two years.

There are many stores, restaurants, and services in this region. The Shoppes at Carlsbad center is across the 78 Freeway on El Camino Real and featuring many options for merchants.

The El Camino Country Club features a championship course with a par 72 and 6,840 yards that was designed by William H. Johnson. The club also has tennis courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and practice facilities.

The beach city of Oceanside is San Diego County’s third largest. It forms a tri-city area with Vista and Carlsbad and is located south of the United States Marine Corp Base Camp Pendleton. Attractions include the Oceanside Pier, Mount Ecclesia, The California Surf Museum, and Race Across America, a 3,000 mile bicycle race. Every May, the city holds The Beach Soccer Championships which is the largest event of its kind of the west coast.
